| We of the Metropolitan Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction are the heirs of a rich Spiritual Heritage. Not only through the patriarchs of the Old Testament or the work that was done through Christ Jesus and the early church, but we have a modern day Pentecostal heritage that was birthed in our dear city at Azusa Street. This section of our website is devoted to the history of modern day Pentecostalism as it has unfolded in Los Angeles, during the past century. The links below will connect those in search of truth to a wealth of information about the birth of the Pentecostal Movement, and how it has had such a phenomenal impact on Christianity and the World today. The Church of God in Christ had a pivital role in the spread of Pentecostalism today, and there are lessons to be learned from how God dealt with us, and used us historically, that can once again equip us with the much needed wisdom and power to have a healing impact on the nation today. As you study the history, pay close attention to the role of humility, and how it serves to pave the way for a mighty move of God.
